It All Started With Our Own Home: Our Journey to Becoming One of the Most Trusted Interior Designers in Bangalore

Seventeen years ago, if someone had told us we’d one day be running a full-fledged interior design studio in Bangalore, we probably wouldn’t have believed them.
Because back then, this wasn’t part of any plan.
It all began when we were building our own home. Like most people, we started by meeting a few interior designers, hoping to find the right fit.
Some presented stunning designs—but very little of me came through. Others were more hands-off, expecting us to make all the decisions ourselves, without the guidance we were really hoping for.
Neither felt right.
So I (Aanchal) decided to take on the project myself.
At the time, I was on sabbatical from my job at National Instruments. We had just welcomed our second child, and I found myself craving a creative, grounding project.
Designing our own home became that project.
I poured myself into the process—exploring materials, thinking through layouts, understanding how our home could reflect how we live and what we care about.
But even then, I didn’t consider doing it professionally. It was something I did for us, with love.
The Angel Neighbour Who Changed Everything
That changed when our neighbour—who I now call my angel neighbour—walked in, saw the home, and asked if I would design theirs.
Something about that moment felt different. I decided to say yes.
At the same time, I enrolled in a formal diploma course in interior design to strengthen my foundation. Meanwhile, word spread in the building—and more neighbours started reaching out.
By the time I completed my course, I had already finished six projects. That’s when I knew: this wasn’t just a phase. It was a new path.
Even though the name Inner Space had been with me since the beginning, I now registered it as a formal business.
Why the Name ‘Inner Space’
The name Inner Space came to me during that course, when we were asked what interior design meant to us. For me, it was clear: interior design is an inward journey.
A home is more than a structure. It’s where you come back to yourself. It’s your safe haven. Every corner should reflect your inner world.
That’s when I sketched our first logo—a spiral, representing that inward journey.
In 2024, we enhanced the logo to carry the same essence forward. We added a square around the spiral—symbolising the home as a safe, grounding container for your inner self.
The colours say just as much as the shape:
Gold stands for understated luxury
Red captures the passion I bring to every project
Earthy browns and muted greys represent humility, something that anchors even the most opulent designs
It’s not just a logo. It’s how I think when I design.
When It Became Real
Things changed in a big way when Yogesh, my husband, left his job at Intel to join Inner Space full-time. That’s when the studio really began to grow.
While I led the creative vision, Yogesh brought structure by handling operations, timelines, vendor management, and execution with care and precision. We balanced each other out perfectly.
Today, we work together on every single project, whether it’s design consultations, turnkey interiors, custom furniture, or Airbnb transformations. And it’s still just the two of us.
Our decade-long partnerships with trusted vendors ensure we deliver top-quality materials and craftsmanship on every project.
Inside Our Studio: A Home-Like Interior Design Experience in Bangalore
Our very first “office” wasn’t an office at all. It was our own villa.
Clients would walk in—not into a commercial or corporate setup—but into a real home. They could sit, touch, and experience what their own space could feel like.
Later, when we moved into the villa ourselves, we converted our apartment into the new office—carrying forward that same home-first approach.
Even today, our studio feels more like a warm, lived-in residence than a conventional office. Because that’s how we believe interior design should be experienced—not as a concept, but as a feeling.
We still handle every project ourselves—from design consultations and turnkey interiors to custom furniture and Airbnb makeovers. What truly sets us apart is our genuine connection with clients. Many become friends, and we’re honoured to work with them again for their second and third homes. Their raving reviews and repeat business mean the world to us.
What Makes Us One of the Best Interior Designers in Bangalore
Our growth has been slow, steady, and completely organic—built on trust, not trends.
We don’t advertise much. We don’t chase awards. But we do show up—with care, clarity, and deep commitment to every home we design.
What makes people choose us—and come back for their second and third homes—is simple:
We listen before we design.
We don’t follow a fixed style. Every home starts fresh.
We’re hands-on, every step of the way.
We balance beauty with practicality. Always.
And we hold ourselves to a high standard—of quality, timelines, and trust.
Being among Bangalore’s most trusted interior designers isn’t something we claim. It’s something our clients tell us—and we carry that trust with a lot of responsibility.
We want to be the name people think of when they want a home that just feels right.
One where everything has a place. Where nothing feels forced. Where the design blends seamlessly with the people who live there.
That’s the dream. And that’s what we’re building—one home at a time.
